Announcement imminent: Sheffield Wednesday's Nigerian midfielder joins Hatayspor on 3-year deal

Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that Sheffield Wednesday's Nigerian midfielder Fisayo Dele-Bashiru has joined Turkish Super Lig side Hatayspor following a successful medical examination.

The 2019 Flying Eagles invitee has penned a three-year deal with Hatayspor with an official announcement set to follow in the coming days.


Dele-Bashiru is joining the Turkish side from the newly promoted English Championship side, Sheffield Wednesday.


He has been with Sheffield  Wednesday since 2020 having joined from Manchester City.


The Owls attempted to tie him down to a new contract but he had already made up his mind on embarking on a new chapter in his career.


​He featured in 41 games for Sheffield Wednesday in all competitions last term,notching five goals and four assists. 


Overall, the Manchester City academy product logged 86 appearances in his three-year stay at the club,  bagging 6 goals and five assists


The 22-year-old began his career with Manchester City and featured for the Citizens' U18s and development team before his departure in 2020.


By joining Hatayspor, he becomes the second Nigerian to feature for the club in three years with Babajide David being the other.
