Arsenal striker of Nigeria descent in contact with Chelsea over possible transfer
Published: July 06, 2023The representatives of Arsenal striker of Nigeria descent Folarin Balogun have reportedly opened talks with Chelsea over the possibility of the striker moving to Stamford Bridge.
According to footballtransfers, the former England youth international is in search of more regular first opportunities away from Arsenal as he is behind Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah in the pecking order of center forwards at the Emirates Stadum.
It is claimed that the cap-tied United States international is interested in joining the two-time UEFA Champions League winners.
The 22-year-old was on loan with French Ligue 1 side Stade de Reims last season where he impressed, notching 21 goals and three assists in 37 appearances.
Chelsea could make do with the services of Balogun who netted more goals last season than any forward at Chelsea at the moment.
The Blues struggled in front of goal in the last campaign as they scored 38 goals in the Premier League and they have begun to address their goal-scoring woes by signing Christopher Nkunku and Nicolas Jackson from RB Leipzig and Villarreal respectively.
If Mauricio Pochettino's side were to consider moving for the USMNT striker, they will have to meet his £50 million valuation though it remains to be seen whether Arsenal will be willing to sell to a rival club.
