AC Milan eye move for Emegha as cover for ex-Arsenal and Chelsea striker

With the 2023-2024 season in Europe expected to kickoff in August, European teams are taking advantage of the summer transfer market to strengthen the squad ahead of the commencement of the season.

Just like other European clubs, Italian side AC Milan are also active in the market to improve the squad that missed out on a place in the final of the Champions League after losing to arch-rival Inter Milan in the semifinal.

The Rossoneri are reportedly in the market for an attacker to provide cover for former Arsenal and Chelsea star Olivier Giroud.

According to Il Corriere dello Sport, Dutch-Nigerian-Togolese striker Emanuel Emegha has emerged as a candidate to bolster Milan's attack this summer.

AC Milan are monitoring Emegha and will hope to secure a deal for the Sturm Graz striker who is valued at between ten and fifteen million euros.

Standing at 1.95m, the Netherlands U21 international  scored 10 goals in 38 games across all competitions for Sturm Graz last campaign, and also helped them win the OFB Cup.

A product of the Sparta Rotterdam academy, Emegha has enjoyed a new lease of life in Austria after an unsuccessful spell at Antwerp, where he made only one appearance for the first team.

His contract with Sturm Graz runs out at the end of the 2025-2026 season.
