Two Flying Eagles-eligible players named in Man Utd's travelling squad to Norway
Published: July 11, 2023Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has included two Flying Eagles-eligible players in his traveling squad to Oslo, Norway for Wednesday's pre-season friendly against Leeds United.
Anglo-Nigerian teenagers Shola Shoretire and Maxi Oyedele are in contention to get pre-season minutes against Leeds United, with both named on the 26-man roster.
Shoretire and Oyedele have been training with the first team since the start of pre-season preparations at Carrington last week.
While Oyedele has yet to make his debut for Manchester United's first team, Shoretire has played five competitive matches from the fifteen call ups he has received,
The defensive midfielder has earned a temporary promotion to the first team on the back of his impressive performances during a loan spell at National League club Altrincham FC in the second part of last season when he netted four goals in twelve outings in the fifth tier of English football.
As for winger Shoetire, this is the third straight pre-season he has been involved with the first team.
Manchester United faced Leeds United twice last season, the meeting at Old Trafford ended in a 2-2 draw and the game at Elland Road was 2-0 in favour of the Red Devils.
Wednesday's friendly between Manchester United and Leeds United will take place at the Ullevaal Stadion in Oslo with kickoff scheduled for 1600 hours.
