Official: Bassey joins six-time Israeli champions Hapoel Petah Tikva on loan with option to buy
Published: July 21, 2023Through official channels, six-time Israeli champions Hapoel Petah Tikva have announced the signing of Nigerian striker Fortune Bassey.
Hapoel Perah Tikva have loaned in the Ferencváros player for the whole of the 2023-2024 season with an option to buy included the deal.
Bassey will be unveiled by Hapoel Petah Tikva in the coming days upon his arrival in Israel.
The 24-year-old is a product of Nigerian academy Eagle's Wing and at the age of eighteen, he moved to the Czech League where hs mustered 42 goals across four seasons.
He was acquired by Hungarian club Ferencváros in 2022 before he was loaned out to Viktoria Plzeň for whom he recorded eighteen appearances in all competitions including 5 in the UEFA Champions League.
In his first words as a player of Hapoel Petah Tikva, Bassey stated: "Happy to come to Hapoel Petah Tikva. I come with a great desire to succeed and meet the goals of the team in the coming season."
On his curriculum vitae, Bassey has also played for Bohemians 1905, Olympia Radotín, České Budějovice, Vlašim and Degerfors.
