Monaco make N4.3b bid for Tottenham Hotspur target Tosin
Published: July 27, 2023French Ligue 1 club Monaco have firmed up their interest in Manchester-born Nigerian central defender Tosin Adarabioyo who is a player of interest to Tottenham Hotspur.
Allnigeriasoccer.com exclusively reported on July 5, 2023 that Tosin had applied for a Nigerian passport because he would qualify as an EU player were he to join a French Ligue 1 club on account of the Cotonou Agreement and the Kolpak Ruling.
This website also reported that Tottenham Hotspur must act fast to close a deal for the Manchester City academy product as Monaco are seriously pushing to sign him,
French sports daily L'Equipe confirmed on Thursday that Monaco have made an opening bid estimated at €5 million (approximately N4.3 billion in Nigerian currency) to Fulham for Tosin.
Monaco want to freshen up their defensive ranks this summer and have also been linked with Southampton's Ghana international Mohammed Salisu.
Tosin did not participate in Fulham's Premier League Summer Series matches with Brentford and Aston Villa, which suggests a transfer is on the cards and he's not in the plans of manager Marco Silva for the forthcoming season.
The 25-year-old has registered 107 appearances for the Cottagers since joining them from Manchester City in 2020.
