Video: 2019 Fifa U17 World Cup star Ibrahim Said scores dream goal for Viborg
Published: July 29, 2023It has taken 2019 Fifa U17 World Cup star Ibrahim Said just two matches to open his goalscoring account for the 2023-2024 season.
After registering an assist on the opening matchday against Nordsjaelland, Said salvaged a point for Viborg when he scored in the 76th minute of their 2-2 draw with Lyngby BK at the Viborg Stadium on Friday evening.
The visitors were 2-0 up after 24 minutes courtesy of goals from Alfred Finnbogason and Pascal Gregor.
Three minutes before the break, Danish-Nigerian striker Anosike Ementa showed great vision to find Oliver Bundgaard, who managed to find the back of the net despite the goalkeeper's best efforts to keep it out.
After an hour played, only a goal-line clearance prevented Ibrahaim Said from restoring parity.
However, the Viborg number 8 was not be denied with fourteen minutes left on the clock when he scored a goal of the season contender with an unstoppable shot from long range after a clearance by the Lyngby defence fell to him.
A product of Dabo Babes Academy, Said joined Viborg in 2020 and has totaled 67 games for the club in all competitions, registering nine goals and nine assists.
As a youth international, he is best remembered for the hat-trick he scored against Ecuador at the 2019 Fifa U17 World Cup.
