Everton interested in Super Eagles striker but no approach has been made yet

Everton are yet to approach Leicester City for the signing of Super Eagles striker Kelechi Iheanacho.

According to a report from BBC, there is nothing concrete yet regarding the news linking the Manchester City academy product to the Merseyside-based club.

However, the report confirmed that Everton have a mild interest in Iheanacho.

The Toffees intend to get a striker to solve their attacking woes having scored the second-fewest goal in the Premier League last season.

They have already signed versatile Nigerian-born winger Arnaut Danjuma on loan from Villarreal and could add the services of Iheanacho to their ranks before the end of the transfer window.

Despite starting just 11 Premier games last season, the Super Eagles forward registered 10 goal contributions and could be a good addition to Sean Dyche's side.

Besides Everton, the 26-year-old has also been linked with Nottingham Forest and Galatasaray in this transfer window

At the moment, he is currently with the Foxes' squad preparing for the new Championship season which starts next weekend.

Iheanacho and his teammates will begin their Championship campaign with a game against Coventry City at the King Power Stadium on Sunday.
