'He was excellent' - Nottingham Forest boss hails Cobham product Aina after debut v PSV
Published: July 31, 2023Nottingham Forest manager Steve Cooper has hailed Chelsea's Cobham's product Ola Aina after he made his debut in a pre-season game against PSV Eindhoven on Sunday.
Aina was in action for 45 minutes as the English side lost 1-0 to their Dutch opposition courtesy of a 66th-minute strike from Johan Bakayoko.
Aina is Forest's first signing of the season having arrived on a free from Torino and is set to be at the City ground for at least June 30, 2024.
Cooper praised the performance of the Super Eagles right back against PSV and would be hoping to see more from him when the season starts
"It was good to get Ola on the pitch, I thought he was excellent and showed some really good moments," he told Forest TV.
The 26-year-old was replaced at the start of the second half by Liverpool academy product Neco Williams.
He will still have more time to impress before the season starts with Nottingham Forest set to play two more preseason games against Rennes and Eintracht Frankfurt.
The former Torino defender will be hoping to make his competitive debut when they face Arsenal on the first match day of the new Premier League season on the 12th of August.
