Official: Exeter City confirm Tottenham youth product of Nigerian descent has joined the club
Published: August 01, 2023Through their official website, EFL League One club Exeter City have confirmed the signing of Tottenham Hotspur youth product of Nigerian descent, Santino Ohanaka.
Allnigeriasoccer.com exclusively reported 85 days ago that Exeter City had won the race for the services of Ohanaka, with the versatile midfielder signing a scholarship deal which came into effect on July 1, 2023.
Exeter City have announced that Ohanaka is among the new intake of academy scholars for the 2023-2024 season.
He has been training with Exeter youth teams since January and was offered a scholarship deal following a successful trial.
Introducing their new scholars, Exeter City wrote on Ohanaka: " Santino is an attacking midfielder or wide player who is creative in possession and excels in 1v1 situations.
"Formerly of Tottenham Hotspurs FC and identified playing for Onside Academy based in London."
Norwich City were interested in signing Ohanaka but he turned down a move to the Canaries in favor of continuing his career at Exeter City.
The promising teenager has already experienced U18s football, and was on target as Exeter City defeated Bristol Rovers U18s in March.
