CB who was red-carded for foul on Osimhen at U17 World Cup leaves Arsenal
Published: August 01, 2023United States international Auston Trusty is set to depart Arsenal for pastures new in the coming days.
Italian transfer market expert Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that the central defender is leaving the Gunners and joining English Premier League new boys Sheffield United on a permanent deal.
Romano has suggested that a deal is imminent, with Sheffield United and Arsenal reaching a club-to-club agreement for the transfer of the former United States U17 international.
The north London club have agreed to end their association with Trusty in exchange for five million pounds.
Trusty was a member of the United States squad to the 2015 Fifa U17 World Cup in Chile, where he started the opening game against the Golden Eaglets but lasted 87 minutes on the pitch.
He was shown a straight red card for a dangerous challenge on Victor Osimhen.
Also named in the United Stated starting lineup against the eventual champions were Matthew Olosunde and Christian Pulisic, who later transferred to Manchester United and Chelsea respectively.
Since landing at Arsenal in 2022, Trusty has yet to make his first team debut and was farmed out on loan to Colorado Rapids and Birmingham City.
