Official: American-Nigerian goalkeeper departs Leicester City for MLS Next Pro side
Published: August 02, 2023American goalkeeper of Nigeria descent Chituru Odunze has left Leicester City after his four-year stay at the club
Through their official website, the Foxes have confirmed the departure of the young goalkeeper to Major League Soccer Next Pro side Crown Legacy FC on a permanent contract, subject to league and international clearance.
He joins the Crown Legacy who are the reserve team of MLS side Charlotte FC, for an undisclosed fee.
The 20-year-old shot-stopper has featured for Leicester City's development squad in recent seasons after progressing from the U18s.
He made 10 league appearances for the U18s before moving to the development squad where he made 25 appearances in the Premier League 2 and kept 5 clean sheets.
He was nominated for the Premier League 2 Save of the Season due to the fantastic save he made for the young Foxes in their home win over West Ham last season.
He was unable to feature for Leicester's first team but made the matchday squad on three occasions during his time at the King Power Stadium.
