Mladen Ramljak Memorial Tournament: Musa fires Man Utd into final with three goals in group stage
Published: August 06, 2023Manchester United U19 team have reached the final of the prestigious Mladen Ramljak Memorial Tournament after an entertaining 5-4 win over Dinamo Zagreb in their last group game on Saturday.
Golden Eaglets-eligible attacker Victor Musa played a key role in the group stage, scoring three goals to fire Manchester United into the final of the competition.
The Red Devils will face a Feyenoord U18 team coached by Manchester United and Arsenal legend Robin van Persie in the showpiece on Sunday morning.
Musa, with a header, equalized for Manchester United in the 14th minute after the Croatian side had taken the lead through Vito Čaić.
With Manchester United trailing 4-2 to the hosts Dinamo Zagreb, Musa reduced the deficit in the 57th minute when he curled the bal into the net for his second of the game, before goals from Gabriele Biancheri and James Scanlon won it for the English side.
The game winner arrived in the 64th minute when Musa shot hard and hit the post, and the rebound was met by James Scanlon, who tucked home.
The Spanish-Nigerian attacker netted the winning goal as Manchester United beat Monaco 3-2 in their opening fixture of the Mladen Ramljak Memorial Tournament.
