Nigeria's 2023 Fifa U20 WC star seen at Vicarage Road ahead of potential Watford move
Published: August 08, 2023English Championship side Watford are keen on signing Flying Eagles star midfielder Daniel Daga.
According to Mike McGrath of Telegraph Football, the Hornets are working on an ambitious move to sign the Nigerian midfielder ahead of other European clubs that have been tracking him.
He was reported to have been seen at the Vicarage Road last weekend in Watford's 4-0 win over QPR on matchday one of the English Championship.
The Hertfordshire-based club has a history of signing Nigerian players with three Nigerian internationals currently on their books - Tom Dele-Bashiru, Maduka Okoye and Samuel Kalu.
Daga was outstanding for the Flying Eagles at the 2023 FIFA U20 World Cup as he played a key role in Ladan Bosso's side reaching the quarterfinals, including victories against Italy and the tournament host, Argentina.
The 16-year-old featured in all 5 games played by Nigeria and completed all but one game.
The FC One Rocket product played as a defensive midfielder and his intelligent reading of the game was phenomenal throughout the competition.
