Tottenham yet to put forward concrete offer for Gent hat-trick hero Orban but talks have taken place
Published: August 09, 2023Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that English Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur have yet to firm up their interest in prolific Nigerian striker Gift Orban by making an official bid to KAA Gent.
The Lilywhites have him on their radar as a possible replacement for talismanic England captain Harry Kane, who has been heavily linked with a transfer to Bayern Munich.
Orban enhanced his burgeoning reputation with another superb display on Wednesday, scoring a hat-trick as Gent netted five goals for the third Europa Conference League qualifier match in a row.
The 21-year-old broke the deadlock in the 13th minute, doubled the advantage in the 35th minute and got his treble eighteen minutes into the second half as Gent thrashed Pogoń Szczecin 5-0 in the third qualifying round of the Europa Conference League.
It is confirmed that Tottenham Hotspur have not yet put forward a concrete offer to sign Orban but have held talks with the striker's agent to discuss the possibility of signing the attacker this summer.
Negotiations for the transfer of Orban have not yet started due to the fact that no bid has been made by the Londoners.
Although Gent have not yet set an asking price for the in-demand forward who is also attracting interest from Lille, it is understood that the Belgian Pro League side want to sell him for around 30 million euros.
Orban has roughly four years left on his contract with Gent, whom he joined from Stabæk in the January transfer window.
