Bayer Leverkusen make N15b bid for Arsenal academy product Tella
Published: August 18, 2023According to The Telegraph, Bayern Leverkusen have tabled an 18 million euros (approximately N15 billion) bid for Arsenal youth product, Nathan Tella.
Xabi Alonso's side want the Super Eagles eligible forward to replace Moussa Diaby who left for Aston Villa this summer.
Tella was on loan with Burnley last season and played a pivotal role in ensuring their return to the Premier League just after a season they got demoted to the Championship.
He was in the running for PFA Championship Player of the Year alongside Chuba Akpom, Iliman Ndiaye, Josh Brownhill, Carlton Morris and Viktor Gyokeres.
Burnley have shown interest in making his move permanent but have found it difficult to meet his transfer valuation.
Tella is back in action for his parent club, Southampton and has featured in two Championship games this season, providing one assist.
The Saints have a decision to make on whether to accept or reject Bayern Leverkusen's bid as they seek to return to the Premier League after getting relegated last season.
They have lost Mislav Orsic, Mohammed Salisu, Tino Livramento, James Ward-Prowse and Duje Caleta-Car already this summer.
