Monaco not working to sign Tottenham centre-back but still in talks with Fulham for Tosin
Published: August 31, 2023Tottenham Hotspur central defender Davinson Sánchez has been linked with a transfer to French club Monaco ahead of deadline day.
It was previously claimed that Sánchez's agent was in London to negotiate the transfer of his client to Monaco.
However, Italian transfer market expert Fabrizio Romano has denied those reports, stating that the Principality club are not working on a deal to sign the Colombia international.
Romano added that Monaco are still in talks with Fulham over the transfer of Tosin Adarabioyo but a deal is difficult to pull off.
Monaco's earlier approach for Tosin was dismissed as it did not meet the valuation of the Nigerian central defender.
Tottenham Hotspur have also been linked with Tosin but the Manchester City academy product prefers a move to Monaco over remaining in the English Premier League.
Tosin has been training away from the Fulham first team ahead of a permanent exit from the club he joined in 2020, after ending his 18-year association with boyhood club Manchester City.
The 25-year-old has not been called up for three of the four games played by Fulham in the new season as a transfer is on the cards.
Tosin has tallied 187 appearances for the English clubs he has represented, scoring six goals from his defensive position.
