Boniface battles Tottenham legend Kane, Bayern speed star Davies, 3 others for Bundesliga POTM
Published: September 06, 2023Super Eagles invitee Victor Boniface has been nominated for the EA Bundesliga Player of the Month for August 2023.
He has been nominated alongside Tottenham Hotspur legend Harry Kane, Bayern Munich speedster Alphonso Davies, VFL Wolfsburg striker Jonas Wind, Union Berlin forward Kevin Behrens and RB Leipzig defender Benjamin Henrichs.
The Bayern Leverkusen forward has had a fantastic start to life in the German top flight, having bagged 6 goal contributions in his first 3 league games.
He became the third player in the history of the Bundesliga to register 6 goal contributions in his first 3 games after registering 2 goals and 1 assist in Bayern Leverkusen's 5-1 thrashing of Darmstadt.
The 22-year-old is also in the running for the Bundesliga Rookie of the Month alongside Super Eagles-eligible goalkeeper Noah Atubolu and RB Leipzig's midfielder Xavi Simons.
It is no surprise that the former Royale Union Saint-Gilloise striker has been called up to the Super Eagles squad for the first time in his career.
He could make his debut when Nigeria square up against São Tomé and Príncipe in the final group game of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign.
