Koleosho in action for Burnley as Fernandes spectacular goal secures Man Utd first away win of the season
Published: September 23, 2023Super Eagles-eligible forward Luca Koleosho featured for Burnley in their 1-0 to Manchester United in a Premier League encounter played at Turf Moor on Saturday night.
The victory was Manchester United's first away win of the season following losses to Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal and Bayern Munich.
The only goal of the game was scored by the Red Devils skipper Bruno Fernandes who found the back of the net with a stunning effort on the stroke of half-time.
Koleosho was deployed as a left-winger in Vincent Kompany's 4-3-3 set-up for the home team.
He was in action till the 73rd-minute encounter when he was replaced by Jacob Bruun Larsen as the Clarets sought to restore parity.
The American-born forward ended the game with 38 touches and completed 4 of the 7 dribbles he attempted, had 81% pass accuracy and had one shot off target.
He has now started all of Burnley's 5 Premier League games this season and has notched one assist.
The newly promoted side are yet to win a Premier League game this season and are rooted to the bottom of the table after the opening 6 matches of the season.
