Video: Iheanacho finishes off lovely team move by Leicester City but hurts himself
Published: October 22, 2023
Kelechi Iheanacho was at the end of a beautiful team move to seal Leicester City's comeback win over Swansea City on matchday 12 of the English Championship played on Saturday afternoon at the Swansea.com Stadium
The Super Eagles forward started the game on the bench and came on as a late substitute in the 84th minute for Jamie Vardy.
He got his goal three minutes after he came on from a nice move that saw Ricardo Pereira exchange a one-two pass with Wout Faes who then played the ball towards the feet of Yunus Akgün.
The Turkish International would return the pass to Pereira who put Iheanacho through on goal and the Nigerian forward made no mistake in tucking the ball into the back of the net.
Iheanacho appeared to hurt himself as he gave the Foxes a two-goal advantage, but he didn't mind as he shook off the knock and was able to complete the game despite the incident.
The strike was the Manchester City Academy product's 5th goal in five consecutive games for club and country and it was the first time that he had scored in four consecutive games for Leicester City and in his professional career.
