Dele-Bashiru: Fenerbahce interested in Super Eagles midfielder who learned his trade at Man City
Published: November 18, 2023According to several reports in the Turkish press, including Sporx, Turkish Super Lig giants Fenerbahce are interested in signing Manchester City academy product Fisayo Dele-Bashiru in the January transfer window.
Dele-Bashiru has emerged as one of the best players in the Turkish Super Lig this season following his summer move to Hatayspor from Sheffield Wednesday, with eight goal involvements in eleven league appearances for the Antakya based club.
His excellent start to the season earned him international recognition with manager Jose Peseiro naming him on the roster for the training camp in Portugal, where he made his senior debut in a 3-2 win against Mozambique in October.
As per the report, Fenerbahce are planning to contact Hatayspor during the winter market for the 22-year-old, who learned his trade at Manchester City.
It has been suggested that Fenerbahce are in the market for a fast player who would complement Fred in midfield and Dele-Bashiru fits the bill.
The Nigeria international impressed the Yellow Canaries during Hatayspor's 2-1 win versus Galatasaray in their last game before the international break.
Ali Koç president of Fenerbahce, wants to sign Dele-Bashiru with the intention of selling him for more than ten million euros in the future,
Dele-Bashiru has a contract with Hatayspor until June 30, 2026.
