Watch Osayi-Samuel punch Trabzonspor fan during pitch invasion; has difficulty walking
Published: March 18, 2024There were crazy scenes after the Turkish Super Lig match between Trabzonspor and Fenerbahce at Papara Park on Sunday evening, in which the visitors won 3-2.
Chelsea old boy Michy Batshuayi netted the game-winning goal with three minutes left after Mahmoud Trezeguet and Enis Bardhi found the net to cancel out Fred's first half brace.
Events broke out after the match as there was a pitch invasion orchestrated by Trabzonspor fans, who hurled objects onto the field over the course of the matchday 30 fixture.
The Trabzonspor fans attacked the Fenerbahce players who were celebrating their late win in the center of the pitch.
At that instant, the cameras captured Nigeria international Bright Osayi-Samuel punching a masked Trabzonspor fan.
Within moments, scores of spectators assembled on the field, and the players were urgently taken to the dressing room.
According to Turkish newspaper Hurriyet, the Fenerbahce players left the stadium approximately three hours after the referee ended the game due to the events that unfolded post-match, with police officers accompanying the team on the bus.
As per the report, it was observed that the players looked very tired and unhappy when leaving the stadium, and Osayi-Samuel and Ferdi Kadıoğlu had difficulty walking.
Osayi-Samuel is expected to link up with the Nigeria squad at their training camp in Marrakesh this week ahead of international friendlies against Ghana's Black Stars and Mali's Eagles.
