Super Falcons camp update: Liverpool alum, PSG loanee among 18 players in camp; Oshoala awaited
Published: April 02, 2024Liverpool alum Rinsola Babjide and PSG loanee Nicole Payne have arrived at the Super Falcons' camp ahead of the two-legged tie against South Africa in the final round of the Paris 2024 Olympics' qualifiers.
This was confirmed by the official X account of the Super Falcons on Tuesday night where it was also stated that FC Rosengård midfielder Halimatu Ayinde and Houston Dash number 11 Michelle Alozie have also arrived to the camp.
The addition of the quartet brings the total number of players that have reported for duty to 18 with four players still being awaited, including record African Women's Player of the Year Asisat Oshoala.
Randy Waldrum ladies are seeking to qualify for the Olympics for the first time since 2008, missing the last three consecutive editions and now have to cross the final hurdle by beating South Africa to one of the two meant for Africa.
They will host the Banyana Banyana on Friday at the MKO Abiola Stadium in Abuja before traveling to Pretoria for the second leg next Tuesday which will be played at the Loftus Versfield Stadium.
