Barcelona looking to bring in Ndidi and experienced Arsenal midfielder on free transfers this summer
Published: April 07, 2024La Liga giants Barcelona are reportedly looking to bolster their midfield with a double swoop this summer, targeting Super Eagles midfielder Wilfred Ndidi of Leicester City alongside Arsenal's Jorginho on free transfers.
According to TEAMtalk citing Spanish sports daily Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona are keen to bring in Jorginho, who has a wealth of experience at the highest level and is reportedly open to a move to Camp Nou.
Ndidi, on the other hand, has been a key player for Leicester City in their Championship promotion push.
The 27-year-old defensive midfielder has impressed with his contributions of four goals and six assists in 30 appearances this season.
Currently, Leicester City lead the Championship table by one point with a game in hand over their closest rivals Leeds United and Ipswich Town.
However, even if they achieve promotion, there is still a possibility of Ndidi leaving the club.
Barcelona are reportedly not alone in their pursuit of Ndidi as Galatasaray are also closely monitoring the Nigerian international's situation.
Additionally, the report claims Everton could join the race for Ndidi if they are forced to sell midfielder Amadou Onana this summer.
The Catalan Giants appear to be making a strategic move to strengthen their midfield by targeting two seasoned midfielders who will be available on free transfers due their current financial situation.
