Man Utd star Maguire in attendance as Arsenal loanee Okonkwo stars in Wrexham's big win v Red Devils
Published: April 10, 2024Wrexham claimed back-to-back wins in their battle for promotion, thrashing Crawley Town 4-1 in a League Two game staged at STōK Cae Ras on Tuesday night.
According to The Wrexham Insider, Manchester United center back Harry Maguire was spotted at Racecourse Ground for the meeting between the Red Dragons and Red Devils.
The England international was at the game to watch his brother Laurence Maguire, who went the distance for the visitors and was booked in the 31st minute for a foul.
There was Nigerian involvement in the match, with Arsenal loanee Arthur Okonkwo in action for the entirety of the game and Crawley Town forward Ade Adeyemo entering the game as a substitute on the hour mark.
Okonkwo gave a good account of himself and was on the brink of keeping his thirteenth clean sheet in the division, only to concede in the third minute of stoppage time when he was beaten by Klaidi Lolos from inside the box.
Ryan Barnett, with his first goal for the club, opened the scoring after 20 minutes before Paul Mullin tapped home to give Wrexham a two-goal advantage heading into the break.
Andy Cannon scored in 76th minute to put the home team in a commanding position and Paul Mullin extended Wrexham's lead in the 82nd minute.
Okonkwo is spending the 2023-2024 season on loan at Wrexham after previous loan spells at Crewe Alexandra and Sturm Graz.
His future as an Arsenal player is up in the air with his contract expiring on June 30, 2024.
