Tottenham back for Super Eagles-eligible defender after failing to sign him last summer
Published: April 11, 2024According to Football.London, Tottenham Hotspur are back in the race to sign Fulham's in-demand central defender Tosin Adarabioyo as the north London are aiming to bolster their defensive ranks for the 2024-2025 season.
Ange Postecoglou's side have three natural center backs and had to play fullbacks Ben Davies and Emerson Royal in that position due to injuries earlier this season.
The Super Eagles-eligible player is said to be high on the wishlist of Spurs and the club are ready to step their interest in him after a failed pursuit last summer.
If his move to Spurs go through, Tosin will have to compete with Cristian Romero, Radu Drăgușin and Micky van de Ven for a place in the starting lineup.
The 26-year-old is into the final months of his contract with Fulham and has been offered a new deal but nothing is signed as of now.
Thus, his four year stay at the Craven Cottage is looking increasingly to end at the end of the current campaign
Should Tosin leave Fulham as a free agent at the end of the season, he would undoubtedly attract interest from other Premier League clubs.
Being a homegrown player with 76 appearances in the English top-flight certainly adds to his appeal.
