Published: April 19, 2024Southampton loanee Paul Onuachu remains in contention to make his comeback on Saturday when Trabzonspor take on Kayserispor at the RHG Enertürk Enerji Stadyumu (Kayseri).
In the latest training images uploaded by Trabzonspor's official website, Onuachu was spotted training with a special bandage.
Onuachu has been absent from Trabzonspor's gameday squad since sustaining a fracture in his left arm during the Ziraat Turkish Cup quarterfinal match against Başakşehir on February 28th.
While it's widely expected that he'll be named in the traveling squad to Kayseri, whether he'll be selected in the starting lineup or start on the bench remains uncertain.
Trabzonspor coach Abdullah Avcı will assess the Nigeria international during the team's last practice session on Friday before making a decision.
Onuachu was in a rich vein of form before the injury that has kept hm sidelined for more than seven weeks, registering twelve goal involvements in seventeen outings in the Super Lig.
He was drafted in as a late replacement for Sadiq Umar in Nigeria's 2023 Africa Cup of Nations squad after the Real Sociedad striker suffered an injury during a friendly versus Guinea.
Trabzonspor have lost seven of the eleven matches Onuachu was not available for selection, statistically highlighting the fact that the FC Ebedei product is a key player for the team.
