West Ham hold internal talks about the possibility of signing Super Eagles forward
Published: October 27, 2024
Ademola Lookman has caught the attention of Premier League club West Ham United following his standout performances for Atalanta.
GIVEMESPORT is reporting that the Hammers are interested in Lookman and have held internal discussions about the possibility of signing the forward in future transfer windows.
West Ham are in the market for a versatile attacker who can compliment players like Jarrod Bowen, Mohammed Kudus, Niclas Fullkrug and Crysencio Summerville.
Lookman can play multiple positions in attack, including playing on the right wing, left wing, centrally, and can be used as an attacking midfielder if the need arises.
The Charlton Athletic product ha seen his stock rise exponentially over the past nine months following his stellar performances for club and country, leading to his nomination for the Ballon d'Or and African Footballer of the Year awards.
Lookman was a key member of the Nigeria squad that reached the final of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations and was named in the Team of the Tournament by the Confederation of African Football.
The 2017 Fifa U20 World Cup winner with the Young Lions has Premier League experience, with ninety-six games under his belt for Everton, Fulham and Leicester City.
The report added that West Ham have identified Jhon Duran as their top target, but in the event they are unable to sign the talented Aston Villa striker, they are considering a Plan B, with Lookman and Lille's Jonathan David among the names on the club's shortlist.
With two years remaining on his contract at Atalanta, any club interested in Lookman would need to invest a significant amount of money to acquire him.
