Confirmed: Promising GK Otega Ekperuoh departs Europe's largest football club for pastures new
Published: December 21, 2024
Through official channels, Swedish Ettan Norra club FC Arlanda have announced the signing of promising Nigerian goalkeeper Otega Ekperuoh from Allsvenskan outfit IF Brommapojkarna.
IF Brommapojkarna is considered the largest football club in Europe, boasting the highest number of active youth teams across all age groups.
Ekperuoh has departed IF Brommapojkarna in search of greener pastures elsewhere due to a lack of first team opportunities at the top-flight club.
The 20-year-old made three first team appearances for IF Brommapojkarna, keeping one clean sheet while conceding five goals.
In search of playing opportunities, he enjoyed loan spells at Enskede IK and Täby FK during his time at Brommapojkarna.
Ahead of the official opening of the transfer window, Ekperuoh has agreed a two-year deal that will keep him at FC Arlanda until the end of the 2026 season.
He has been described as a natural leader and towering goalkeeper at over two meters tall, making him a formidable force in aerial battles and a valuable asset to a team.
At the end of the 2024 season, FC Arlanda secured a historic promotion to Ettan Norra, the third tier of Swedish football.
A dual national goalkeeper, Ekperuoh has received several national team call-ups for Sweden's 2004-born eligible players.
