'To make this clear as ABC' - Insider reveals Chelsea target Osimhen rejected all offers for January 2025
Published: December 31, 2024
Nigerian journalist Buchi Laba has confirmed that former African Footballer of the Year Victor Osimhen will see out his contract at Galatasaray amid speculation linking him with top European clubs in the January transfer window.
Laba, who has close links with the Napoli-owned center forward, has made it clear that Osimhen rejected all offers for the winter transfer market to stay back at Galatasaray, where he is under contract until June 2025.
The 26-year-old is attracting concrete interest from Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus, while Premier League giants Chelsea still have him on their radar after a failed move in the hours leading up to the close of the summer transfer window.
Rumours linking him with Manchester United have since been dismissed by transfer insider Fabrizio Romano and Buchi Laba.
Despite their best efforts to offload Osimhen in the summer transfer window, Napoli were unable to reach an agreement on the fee and had to loan him to Galatasaray for the remainder of the 2024-2025 season.
A hypothetical move next month would involve three-way negotiations between an interested club, Galatasaray and Napoli, but Osimhen has committed his short-term future to the Turkish Super Lig champions.
Writing on social media, Laba, who prefers to be identified as a Nigerian journalist rather than Osimhen's friend, said: "To make this clear as ABC: Victor Osimhen rejected every offer in January 2025 to stay back at Galatasaray for the full season.
"Yes there’s Legit concrete interest but the plan has always been to stay at Galatasaray for the full season and win trophies with the team."
This season, Osimhen has scored nine goals in eleven Turkish Super Lig matches and three in four Europa League games.
