With a statement on the official website, Portuguese Primeira Liga club Boavista have announced the signing of nine players, including American-born Nigerian winger Gboly Ariyibi.
The other eight players signed to reinforce the squad led by Lito Vidigal are goalkeeper Tomas Vaclik, defenders Osman Kakay, Sidoine Fogning, Vitalii Lystov, Steven Vitória and Layvin Kurzawa, midfielder Marco van Ginkel and forward Moussa Koné.
The financial terms and length of contract have not been disclosed by Boavista, who added that the aforementioned players have already started training at Bessa.
Born in Arlington County, Virginia, United States, Gboly Ariyibi has caps for the United States at U20 and U23 level.
While his mother Olabisi Agoro was born in Lagos Island, his father's family is from Abeokuta in Ogun State.
Gboly is eligible to represent the senior national teams of United States, England and Nigeria, but his mother has advised him to commit his international future to the Super Eagles.
He is from a sporting family as his parents were both former Nigerian Table Tennis champions.
A product of Southampton, Ariyibi lists Leeds United, Tranmere Rovers, Chesterfield, Nottingham Forest, Milton Keynes Dons, Northampton Town and Motherwell as his previous clubs.
He has also worn the colours of Panetolikos, MKE Ankaragücü and Ankara Keçiörengücü in the past.
