No AEK Athens Move For BENJAMIN ONWUACHI
Published: May 31, 2012
Greek club Panetolikos F.C. have parted company with Benjamin Onwuachi.
The ex Kavala forward joined Panetolikos F.C. in the winter transfer market from Cypriot side AEL Limassol on a five month deal, with the club having the option for an additional season if he impresses on expiration of the contract.
Panetolikos have chosen not to exercise the option of renewal. In nine matches played for Panetolikos, the 28-year-old striker failed to score. Often, he was on the bench.
Onwuachi still has a very good reputation in Greece. 11-time Greek champions AEK Athens were interested in luring the Nigerian to the Greek capital. Now, the proposed move has met a brick-wall. On Thursday, the Greek Federation prohibited AEK from signing foreign players for next season.
