Done Deal: Maurice Edu Arrives Bursaspor On Loan
Published: January 17, 2013
USA international Maurice Edu has completed a loan switch to Turkish Super League outfit Bursaspor for the remainder of the season.
Edu has seen his playing opportunities limited at Stoke City, managing only a cameo appearance against Liverpool early October. Looking for first team football, he agreed to move to Turkey.
"I'm really glad to be here. I wasn't at my best form at Stoke City. I have friends who played here before and they all told me good things about Bursaspor. I've also spoken with Jozy Altidore before I came here.
"I know how Bursaspor fans are. I was very surprised with the presence of Bursaspor fans in Scotland back when we'd played against them in the Champions League. Bursaspor and their fans are exciting,'' Edu said during his unveiling.
According to Turkish media, Bursaspor have the option of acquiring Edu outright on expiration of his contract at the end of the season.
