Sunshine Stars chief Mike Idoko has distanced the club from reports that English Premier League side Newcastle United were interested in the acquisition of Nigeria international stopper Godfrey Oboabona.

''We haven't got any contact from Newcastle over his services,'' Idoko simply told MTNFootball.com.

Metallurg Donetsk (Ukraine) and Lille (France) are understood to be on the trail of Godfrey Oboabona, but have not backed up their interest with a bid to Sunshine Stars.
