Turkish Court Clears Emmanuel Emenike In Match Fixing Scandal

Spartak Moscow striker Emmanuel Emenike has been acquitted in the match fixing scandal in Turkey. <br /><br />The 25-year-old Nigeria international, then on the payroll of Karab&uuml;kspor, was accused of faking injury before the game against league champions Fenerbahce two years ago, an allegation that Karab&uuml;kspor denied vehemently, saying Emenike was injured a week before the game.<br /><br />Turkish prosecutors had claimed Emmanuel Emenike had been promised a transfer to Fenerbahce if he missed the match. <br /><br />He was even threatened with a three - year prison sentence.<br /><br />Now the case has been dropped due to lack of evidence, according to reports in Turkey.<br /><br />Photo Credit: spartak.com<br /><br /><br />
