These are the five takeaways from the game.
1. The Eagles Created Lots of Scoring Chances In The First Half
There was intensity in the game of the Super Eagles and that culminated in a 1st minute goals and other chances created.
2. Eagles Lost Possessions
The Super Eagles gave away the ball at critical times especially with the game at 1-1 which was very risky.
3. Throw Ins, Set Pieces
The three time African champions created lots of chances from set-pieces and throw ins from the left and right wing-backs. It was encouraging to see.
4. Poor Iheanacho
Kelechi Iheanacho came on in the second half but almost all his touches went amiss. Poor display. Paul Onuachu who was introduced later could have been the first to enter the fray earlier.
5. Eagles Must Get Creative Players Before March 2022
The creative play of the Super Eagles were poor as usual. The players struggled to string passes for large spells. Gernot Rohr must invite some creative players of Nigerian decent if he continues to overlook the Nigeria Professional Football League stars back home.
