Goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwo delivered a standout performance on Saturday as Wrexham were held to a 1–1 draw by Preston North End in their Championship clash at Deepdale.
According to BBC Sport, Okonkwo faced an extraordinary 23 attempts on goal, once again showcasing the quality many believe the Super Eagles are currently missing.
The Red Dragons made a dream start, with Kieffer Moore tapping home in the fourth minute after James McClean’s dangerous cross was parried into his path.
Okonkwo then denied Alfie Devine with a sharp stop before producing a superb double save to prevent Thierry Small from equalising just before half-time.
With eleven minutes remaining, the Hale End Academy graduate pulled off another outstanding save to keep Wrexham in front, thwarting Preston’s growing pressure.
However, in the 81st minute, he was finally beaten when Harrison Armstrong fired a left-footed effort from close range to level the contest.
The performance came just a day after Okonkwo was nominated for the PFA Championship Fans' Player of the Month award for November.
The former Arsenal shot-stopper had kept four clean sheets in five Championship appearances for Wrexham last month, underlining his impressive form.
