Radio presenter Alex Crook has encouraged English Premier League clubs to take a risk on signing Victor Osimhen, citing the striker’s impressive goal-scoring record at Turkish giants Galatasaray.
Last season, the Nigeria international joined Galatasaray on loan following a failed deadline-day move to Chelsea.
Osimhen fired Galatasaray to a domestic double, scoring 37 goals in 41 appearances across all competitions — his best return in a single season since turning professional.
The former African Footballer of the Year then completed a surprise permanent move to Galatasaray during the summer transfer window, despite having been widely tipped to join a major Premier League club this season.
Osimhen's form has extended into the current campaign, where he has already found the net 12 times in 16 matches, underlining his reliability in front of goal.
Crook admitted he was surprised that no Premier League side took the opportunity to sign the Nigerian, especially given the league’s demand for proven centre-forwards.
""Victor Osimhen scored 37 goals in 41 games last season on loan at Galatasaray. He has 11 in 15 this season," he said on talkSPORT.
"He looks ready-made for the Premier League. I am surprised that nobody went for him. He is only 26."
Osimhen is currently in international duty with the Super Eagles at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, and he could miss as many as five matches at club level if Nigeria advance to the final of the tournament in Morocco.
