Ademola Lookman Scores Hat-Trick In 18 Minutes As Everton Break 133-Year-Old Record With 22-0 Win
Everton began their pre-season schedule with a ruthless 22-0
hammering of Austrian Landesliga club ATV Irdning on Saturday afternoon.
England
U21 international of Nigerian descent Ademola Lookman was in brilliant
form for the Toffees, scoring a hat-trick before he was replaced at the
interval.
Marco Silva's side led 5-0 after 16
minutes, thanks to goals from Leighton Baines, Mason Holgate, Michael
Keane and Cenk Tosun (2) in that order, then Lookman got in on the act.
The
winger made it 6-0 in the 18th minute, scored his second of the game on
29 minutes before tapping home a cross from Tosun to increase the lead
nine minutes before half-time.
The pick of
Lookman's goals was his first, he headed into the penalty area after
receiving a pass from Tom Davis before firing an unstoppable shot past
the goalkeeper.
In the second half, Kevin Mirallas (5), Baye Oumar Niasse (4) and Nikola Vlasic (2) were on target.
According to Liverpool Echo,
Everton's 22-0 win over ATV Irdning is their biggest ever recorded win
since the formation of the club, surpassing the previous record (14-0)
which stood for 133 years.
