After spending 91 days on the sidelines, Igoh Ogbu made a successful return from injury as Slavia Prague secured a 3-0 victory over Slovacko on Saturday.
The Nigeria international central defender was introduced in the 71st minute, replacing David Zima, marking his first appearance since being sidelined.
Ogbu had been out of action since August 30, 2025, due to a persistent hamstring injury and had not featured for club or country during this period.
His return is seen as a timely boost for both Slavia Prague and the Nigeria national team.
The defender last featured for the Super Eagles in June in a friendly match against Russia before sustaining the injury, which prevented him from making appearances for the three-time Africa Cup of Nations champions in their final rounds of the 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers.
Ogbu’s comeback comes ahead of the release of Nigeria’s roster for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
The former Lillestrom man will now focus on maintaining fitness and form as he aims to secure a place in Nigeria’s upcoming continental campaign and continue his contributions to Slavia Prague in the domestic league.
His return adds depth to Slavia Prague's defensive line and strengthens the options available to the Super Eagles ahead of their continental assignment.
