Everton are on the verge of confirming the signing of Chelsea's tri-national player Tyrique George.
Ahead of the winter transfer deadline, the Toffees have pulled off a notable coup, beating Sunderland and several other suitors to the signature of the English-Ghanaian-Nigerian attacker.
Transfer market expert Fabrizio Romano reported on Sunday evening that Everton and Chelsea have reached an agreement, following the Merseyside club's submission of an official bid on Saturday.
George is set to join Everton on loan for the remainder of the season, with the deal including a non-mandatory option to buy.
The Hill Dickinson Stadium outfit will cover the winger's wages for the duration of the five-month spell.
The 19-year-old was keen to leave Stamford Bridge, either temporarily or permanently, after struggling for consistent first-team opportunities this season.
George has not featured in the Premier League since October 25 when he made a brief four-minute cameo off the bench in a 2–1 defeat to Sunderland.
A product of Chelsea's academy, George has progressed through the ranks to earn his senior debut in a UEFA Conference League fixture against Servette.
The highly rated winger is under contract with the world champions until June 30, 2027, with a club option for the 2027-2028 season.
