Bundesliga-bound: Augsburg agreed deal in principle to sign exciting 2006-born striker Ogundu

Bundesliga side FC Augsburg have reportedly reached an agreement to sign exciting Nigerian striker Uchenna Ogundu from Turkish outfit Alanyaspor, according to renowned transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

The 19-year-old, who was born in 2006, has impressed this season after joining Alanyaspor from Şanlıurfaspor during the summer transfer window.

Despite his young age, the forward has established himself as an important figure in the squad, registering two goals and two assists in 17 league appearances for the Thunders.

Highly regarded for his versatility, technical ability and clinical finishing, Ogundu’s proposed move is viewed as a timely boost for Augsburg’s attacking options.

The German club have struggled in front of goal this campaign, managing just 22 goals in 19 Bundesliga matches, a return that places them among the league’s lowest-scoring sides.

The teenager is now keen to complete the switch, which would mark a significant step in his career and offer him the opportunity to further showcase his talent in one of Europe’s top leagues.

If finalised, Uchenna will be hoping to carry his fine form into the Bundesliga and possibly earn a call-up to the national team ahead of the next Africa Cup of Nations tournament.
