Former Super Eagles manager José Peseiro has been confirmed as the new head coach of Al-Ula FC, a team in the Saudi First Division League.
The 65-year-old was announced on Monday morning on the club's social media page, marking his return to the dugout after leaving his role at Zamalek in 2025.
Peseiro managed the Super Eagles from May 2022 to March 2024 and won a silver medal for Nigeria during the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations tournament in Ivory Coast.
The Portuguese manager, however, left the job after failing to reach an agreement to extend the contract with the Nigeria Football Federation, despite his success in Abidjan.
Confirming his new appointment, Peseiro expressed pride and enthusiasm about the challenge ahead at Al-Ula FC.
"Very proud to start this new chapter at Al-Ula FC," he posted on Facebook.
"More than just a club, I embrace the mission to represent a historic region with an incredible vision for the future.
Peseiro appreciated the club management for the opportunity and expressed desire to ensure the club achieve its objectives.
"The ambition here is huge, and so is my motivation," he said. "Thank you for the trust and the warm welcome. Time to get to work!"
Currently fourth on the table, Al-Ula FC will hope Peseiro will help the club secure promotion to the Saudi Pro League next campaign.
