Confirmed: Nigerian striker returns to Arsenal after loan spell at St Albans City

With a statement on the official website, Premier League club Arsenal have confirmed that Nigerian striker Daniel Oyetunde has returned to the club following the end of his loan spell at St Albans City.

The Hale End Academy graduate joined the Isthmian League Premier Division side on a youth loan to gain first-team experience, an opportunity limited at Arsenal due to established forwards such as Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli, Viktor Gyökeres, and Leandro Trossard ahead of him in the pecking order.

During his time with St Albans, Oyetunde made his FA Cup debut, coming off the bench for the final 28 minutes of a 6-0 defeat to Burton Albion, and scored his first senior goal just a minute after coming on against Dulwich Hamlet.

He also trained with Arsenal's first team on multiple occasions while on loan.

Oyetunde has yet to make his debut for Arsenal in the Premier League 2, though he was an unused substitute in matches against Fulham and Brighton & Hove Albion prior to his loan move.

The versatile forward joined Arsenal at U15 level following a successful trial and signed his first professional contract ahead of the 2025-26 season.
