Canadian Premier League side Halifax Wanderers have confirmed, via a statement on their official website, the signing of London-born Nigerian striker Victor Akinwale.
The move brings an end to Akinwale's nine-year association with Crystal Palace, where he progressed through the academy ranks before signing his first professional contract in August 2021.
He has put pen to paper on a deal that runs through the 2026 Canadian Premier League season, with club options for 2027 and 2028, and will be formally added to the Wanderers' roster upon receipt of his International Transfer Certificate (ITC).
Akinwale leaves Selhurst Park without making a senior appearance for the Eagles, having spent the first part of the season on loan at National League South outfit Eastbourne Borough.
During his time in the academy, he set a club record by scoring 27 goals in a single season for Crystal Palace's youth team in the 2021-22 campaign.
His prolific form at U18 level earned him inclusion in the club's 2022-23 pre-season tour squad, which travelled to Singapore and Australia.
Akinwale featured in the U18 Premier League, Premier League 2, FA Youth Cup and EFL Trophy for the Eagles, and has also represented England at U17 and U18 level.
