Super Eagles striker Cyriel Dessers has returned to partial team training at Greek giants Panathinaikos ahead of Sunday's Super League clash with Panserraikos.
Dessers, who arrived in Greece during the summer transfer window, has been sidelined since September after sustaining a sprain injury.
His spell on the sidelines has seen him miss ten matches across all competitions for the Greens, as well as Nigeria’s last four international fixtures against Lesotho, Benin Republic, Gabon, and DR Congo.
The former Rangers forward handed Panathinaikos a major boost on Friday after taking part in portions of the team’s training session ahead of the weekend fixture.
Dessers trained alongside Calabria and Kotsiras, participating in select drills as he continues his recovery.
The session opened with warm-up drills, moved on to a rondo and a tactical exercise, and wrapped up with finishing practice.
His potential return will be welcome news for Panathinaikos, who are looking to strengthen their attacking options as the season intensifies.
Before his injury, the 30-year-old had settled in well, scoring twice in four appearances.
Dessers will be pushing to be included in the matchday squad, with fans hopeful he can quickly rediscover his form and bolster the team’s offensive firepower.
