England Overtake Nigeria,Canada In Race For Services Of Chelsea Talent Tomori

England have leapfrogged Nigeria and Canada in the race for the services of highly-rated Chelsea defender Fikayo Tomori.<br /><br />The 18-year-old stopper is set to earn his first cap for England at any level, with England U19s manager Aidy Boothroyd including him in a 24-man roster for the upcoming international friendlies against Mexico.<br /><br />Born in Calgary, Alberta, Fikayo Tomori had initially pledged his international future to Canada, representing the North Americans at U20 level but is poised to switch his allegiance to the Young Lions having made the squad list.<br /><br />He made his professional debut for Chelsea on the final day of the season against Leicester City, lasting 30 minutes on the pitch after replacing the experienced Serbian Ivanović. <br /><br />England will face Mexico on June 4 at the Centro de Alto Rendimiento and tackle the same opponents two days later at the same venue.<br /><br />Igho Kingsley<br /><br />Photo Credit : chelseafc.com<br /><br /><br />
