With a statement on the official website, St. Louis City 2 have announced the signing of tri-national midfielder Adeteye Gbadehan to a one-year MLS NEXT Pro contract through December 2026 with a club option through June 2027.
Eligible for the United States, England and Nigeria, Gbadehan has completed his move to St. Louis City 2 following his release by Cardiff City at the end of last season.
Before joining Cardiff City, he turned out for Port Vale after trialing with several English clubs, including Southampton and Brentford.
His only appearance for the first team of the Bluebirds came in a Carabao Cup fixture against Southampton, playing the entirety of the first half of a 5-3 defeat in August 2024.
That same season, he featured for the Bluebirds U21s in the Welsh League Cup and Premier League Cup, recording two assists.
Commenting on the acquisition of Gbadehan, CITY2 Head Coach David Critchley stated: "Adeteye is a great addition to our group this season.
"He brings a strong work rate, physical presence, and a lot of energy to our midfield, and his experience in the English Championship with Cardiff City will be a valuable asset to our team."
Gbadehan, 22, was a member of the Future SC Monarchs squad that won the Dallas Cup in 2021.
