'He was very bad' - Sener suggests Osimhen put in his poorest display in Fenerbahce stalemate
Football commentator Ertem Şener criticized Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen following the team’s 1-1 draw with Fenerbahce in the Süper Lig.
Speaking on his YouTube channel, Şener described the performance as Osimhen’s worst since joining Galatasaray.
“Osimhen played his worst match since his arrival. He kept losing the ball. Osimhen was very bad,” Şener stated, as quoted by habersarikirmizi.
The comments came after a highly anticipated Istanbul derby, in which Osimhen failed to make a significant impact despite being a focal point in Galatasaray’s attack.
Galatasaray had taken the lead through Leroy Sané in the 27th minute, but Fenerbahce equalized late in stoppage time via Jhon Durán, denying the visitors a victory.
Osimhen’s performance, according to Şener, was below the level expected of the club’s key forward.
The former Napoli striker, despite being slowed down by injuries this season, has scored six goals in the Champions League and three in the Turkish Süper Lig.
The reigning Turkish champions will play host to Samsunspor in their next league game on Friday, December 5, where he will be seeking to end his goal drought in domestic competition.
He also has a spot in Eric Chelle’s 54-man provisional roster for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, scheduled to take place in Morocco later this month.
