The Nigeria Football Federation has unveiled the Super Eagles' provisional squad for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
An analysis of the roster shows that manager Eric Chelle has called up six goalkeepers, thirteen defenders, twelve midfielders and twenty-three forwards.
Werder Bremen defender Felix Agu has been included in the squad, but the former Germany U21 international will not make a cap-tying appearance during the tournament in Morocco as he continues to recover from an ankle injury.
Arsenal academy graduate Ryan Alebiosu is among the uncapped players in the squad.
Celtic striker Kelechi Iheanacho and Nottingham Forest duo Ola Aina and Taiwo Awoniyi , who have fitness concerns, also feature in the provisional squad, alongside a fit-again trio of Igoh Ogbu, Cyriel Dessers, and Nathan Tella.
Key names in the squad include Victor Osimhen, Ademola Lookman, Wilfred Ndidi, Alex Iwobi and 2023 AFCON Most Valuable Player William Troost-Ekong.
Premier League representation is strong, with Crystal Palace's Christantus Uche, Wolverhampton Wanderers' Tolu Arokodare, Fulham duo Samuel Chukwueze and Calvin Bassey and Brentford's Frank Onyeka all included.
The squad also features stars from the Nigeria Premier Football League, including Abdulrasheed Shehu, Ebenezer Harcourt, Ekeson Okorie, Chisom Orji and Adekunle Adeleke.
A final 28-man squad will be selected from the provisional list in the coming days, with the Super Eagles set to begin their training camp in Egypt on Wednesday, December 10.
